Lambchop!

It's almost Christmas, and I already have my pressie! Mom got me my very own Lambchop!

I love Lambchop! I'm not going to chew her up. I'm going to keep her. I'm going to kiss all over her. I'm going to sleep with her, too!

What's that you say, Mom? Lambchop needs a BATH???

Oh, Mom. I don't think so. Lambchop likes my slobber better than you do.

You'd better think twice, or a bunch more times, before you throw Lambchop in the washing machine.

Seriously, Mom. I'm watching you. No drowning Lammie. I mean it.

It's about time I'm showcased!

Finally! Mom took the videos off the trail cams, and I'm a star! Well, I'm always a star, but you know. Now the camera proves it!

I have to give Mom a bit of a pass. Not much, mind you. Dad's been sick and she's had her paws...er...hands full taking care of him. I sure hope he gets better soon because I miss our afternoon trips to the mailbox. Anyway...

Mom and I went to get those little blue thingees out of the trail cams. Mom calls them SD cards, so okay. Whatever. There was a short vid of ME walking in the snow.

Snow is cold on my paws, but I'm tough. Mom puts boots on her, um, feet. That might make her a weenie, but don't tell her I said that.

The west forty is full of really neat smells. Even in the snow, I know who's been in my yard. Deer, foxes, raccoons, opossums, more foxes, skunks, and even a coyote. I really, really, really don't like that a coyote has been here. He's worse than the foxes.

It's still early February, but Mom says we're going to work in the woodyard today. I'll be able to wander around, within reason, while she works. That's a good thing in little Deucie's world.

The best way to cool off on a hot day?

Make Dad take me to the creek, that's how!

Sometimes I think Dad can read my mind! It was sooooooooooo hot today that I got TWO trips to the creek to cool off. Mom went along once and took a video of me ambling along.

I mean, some days I really splash but did I mention it was hot today? I'm old enough to know not to exert myself in the heat. Dogs know these things.

Being able to cool off in the creek is great! I wish every dog could do it.

There is always time for a ride!

We've been really busy. Mom says we're in the middle of firewood season. Huh? I thought we had spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Now Mom says there is a fifth one? It's no wonder poor little Deucie, that's me, gets confused.

I think Mom means it's the time of year to split and stack firewood. That's what Mom, Dad, and Cousin Dave have been doing for ages and ages now. It started when the man came back in July and cut down the two big maple trees. I had to stay inside that whole time! Then Mom, Dad, Cousin Dave, and Cousin John cut up those two trees.

But even though we've been working hard, we've had time to go for two long drives. I love going for rides! Especially in Mom's car! Mom's car is the best! The back seat is soooo comfy for me. And I got to ride along to the landfill in the Colorado last week!

Mom told me there were places she'd hoped to visit this summer, but we got too busy. We might get to go now since the outside work is just about done. Mom said we'll have to see what the weather does. She doesn't want to drive in the snow unless she has to.

Having Mom home with me now is a good thing. I like it. I can keep an eye on her. It's a little different because I'm not sure what time we'll go out in the mornings, or if we'll stay up or go back to bed. I vote we should go back to bed but I'm just the dog. Sometimes it's still dark outside and Mom stays up and goes to her computer, and I go back to bed without her. It's okay. I can hear her typing so I know it's all good.

Going for rides is the best fun. I hope we go again soon.
