Lambchop!

It's almost Christmas, and I already have my pressie! Mom got me my very own Lambchop!

I love Lambchop! I'm not going to chew her up. I'm going to keep her. I'm going to kiss all over her. I'm going to sleep with her, too!

What's that you say, Mom? Lambchop needs a BATH???

Oh, Mom. I don't think so. Lambchop likes my slobber better than you do.

You'd better think twice, or a bunch more times, before you throw Lambchop in the washing machine.

Seriously, Mom. I'm watching you. No drowning Lammie. I mean it.

I dare you, Mom!

Mom did a good thing and got me a new Kong chew toy. The product detail said she could hide treats in it, but I know her better than that. She'll just give me... She did it! She hid biscuits in the toy!

I can't believe she did that! Mom doesn't believe in teasing me. Well, only if we're playing but I get it then. She never teases me to be mean. Until now.

I gave here a dirty look, too. She just laughed!

According to Mom, getting the biscuits out is supposed to make me think and problem solve. This has something to do with me running into the screen, I just know it. Mom thinks I wasn't thinking when I did that, and she might be right. She thinks just because I'm almost nine, I must be slipping upstairs. Huh. Wrong, Mom!

I got those biscuits out of the ring in about two minutes! Do it again, Mom. Put a few extra biscuits in there while you're at it. I dare you!

It'll never fly again!

Do you know the very best thing about retrieving a Frisbee?  Sometimes you do not have to give it back!

Mom buys me knock-off Frisbees a dozen at a time. I love flying discs! If Mom throws them just right, and she does almost all the time, I can snatch them right out of the air. I have great eye to fangs coordination. Mom agrees.

A few days ago, Mom had to water her garden so I went along so she could give me a quick spray to keep me cool. Then we played Frisbee for a few minutes, but it was hot so Mom wouldn't let me run too much. When she said I'd had enough exercise for such a hot day, she gave me the Frisbee and told me to "have at it."  WOOFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew what that meant!

I found a shady spot beside the garden and went to work while Mom watered all her plants. I know a good dog shouldn't boast, but that is one Frisbee that will never fly again!

Guarding my stuff

I have a lot of stuff and I like to know exactly where it is at all times. Dad fusses about my belongings being all over the floor in his way, but Mom never says anything so it's ok for me to have my toys out where I can see 'em.

What if that skanky Loki tries to play with my ball? I NEED to know so I can stop him! Mom doesn't like that too much but Loki is smart enough to hop along on his way if I make a move toward him. Sometimes he does things on purpose to get a rise out of me. I know what's he's doing so I play along.

Anyway, Mom's home today and we were on the loveseat together while she had a cup of tea. I was trying to decide if I wanted to pick a toy and coax her into playing with me but that seemed like a lot of work. When she got up, she used Dad's phone and took a picture of me guarding my toys. She thought it was funny the way I got them all in a line.

Sometimes Mom is easily amused.

The Before and The After

I love, love, love to play Frisbee. The thing is, I'm a little hard on the equipment. Mom gets me a supply of perfect flying discs, and I just can't help myself - I ruin them. I have quite the collection if I must say so myself. Mom took a before and after photo to show it off for me.

It's not like I mean to do it. It's just they make a really cool snapping noise when I bend them. I have to work really hard to get it to happen, too. Like really hard.

Besides, I only do it when... well, I'd better not blame Mom and Dad for making bad throws. They might get angry and not play with me. But I only chew the Frisbee when they make a bad throw. It's frustrating! I need to catch the Frisbee before it stops moving! Catching it in the air is best, of course, but when it rolls on its edge works, too. As long as I get to it before it stops. That's the important thing. When it stops it ruins the fun and I get pissy...er... frustrated. So I try to teach it a lesson. Frisbees are stupid things.

Mom and Dad clean the old Frisbees and throw them until they just won't fly. Mom says she might try putting them in a slightly warm oven to see if she can get them to flatten out again. It sounds to me like she doesn't have a lot of hope that will work.

She looks at me and says it's a good thing they only cost a dollar....

I'll be seeing red

Mom and Dad talk on the phone when Mom is at work. Sometimes they just text so I can't hear them. That's what they did today. I had to wait until Mom got home to find out what was going on. I always pay attention to what Mom says even if I don't aways do such a good job of obeying her. I mean to mind her, but I get distracted.

Anyway, it seems I've been bad. I didn't mean to be. I know Mom and Dad don't like it when I bend or chew a Frisbee. (They make a very satisfying cracking noise when you bend them in half.) It seems that Mom splurged on a bunch of Kong brand toys: a red flyer, a red ball, a red bone, and a sort of ball with slots to hide treats in. Now I'm excited - when do they get here???

Mom hopes the flyer is something that will last a long time.  She says I'm a "money pit." I'm not sure what that means but I don't think it's a good thing. Is $30 a lot of money for toys?

And what's this "Christmas" everyone is talking about? And why did Mom and Dad say these toys are my Christmas presents? And what's this about not having a Christmas tree because I'd eat the icicles? And break the balls and maybe cut my tongue on the glass? And chew electrical cords?

I'm Deuce. I'm usually pretty smart but this Christmas stuff is confusing.

Pretzel Logic

I love my pretzel chew toy! Dad holds it and I grab it and pull and pull and pull!

Sometimes he'll let go of it and then we have to start the game over. Dad's very patient and will play the pretzel game with me until I get tired and need to stop.

Or my something else grabs my attention. Whichever comes first.

He's a good Dad.
