This is really NOT FUNNY!!

Enough is enough!

I'm a good dog. I don't pee-pee in the house. I don't chew up anything that has not been given to me for that express purpose. I don't run off. I don't eat cats. I've never ever brought home a girlfriend in 'the family way' and expected Mom to deal with it. And what do I get? I get left home alone in the dark!!

I want to know what is going on here. A couple of weeks ago what did the parents do?  They left poor little Deucie - that's ME - outside in the cold and dark for two hours! Why? I wasn't bad. And last night, they took off in Mom's car and left me home alone! After dark!

What gives? The parents don't go away after dark. Well, Mom goes bowling sometimes, but Dad is home with me. But they both left last night. They went somewhere called City Park to watch some dumb light show!

They stayed in the car. They could have taken me along, but noooooooooo.

I don't like this. Okay, it's the holiday season and Mom gets freaky about all the lights, but I've always gone along when they drive around to see everyone's Christmas displays. It's fun and not even some ten-foot tall Santa on a roof can scare me into staying home alone.

But last night? No excuse, Mom and Dad. I'd better get to go along next year or I'm gonna chew a shoe!!!!!

I got a puppy for Christmas!

I got a puppy for Christmas!

I was worried, too. When Mom said I was getting a puppy, I thought maybe she meant Sadie was coming to live with us. I don't think I'd like that.

Sadie is too high energy, even for me! And she's so small. Mom and Dad tell me I used to be that size but I just don't remember that. Anyway...

I love my puppy! I've had teddy bears and rabbits and even a giraffe, but I don't remember having a puppy. Maybe I did. Mom might know but I don't know how to ask her.

This is better than a live puppy. Seriously. Sadie came with Cousin Dave to visit and it was ... not my finest hour. She grabbed my puppy and I did not like that. I growled a little bit - not much, I swear! But Mom noticed.

I'm not sure I like my puppy as much as I did before SHE slobbered on it. Mom says I'll change my mind in a little while.

Mom thinks I'll warm up to Sadie, too, when Cousins Dave and Sharon can bring Sadie along on a walk with me and Mom. We'll see.

It's Christmas Day, and it's good our pack is together. There's going to be a ZOOM call soon with Dad's litter mates...er...siblings, and I have to remember not to bark. Mom has giblets cooking for me, too. I love giblets! I think I'd better go get ready for when Mom cuts them up. She might drop one and I'd better be there when that happens.

So from our pack to your pack, we wish you a Merry Christmas!

Oh, and here's a short video of Mom being silly. She knows I don't like to share my toys.

Merry Christmas

Mom said I had to pose for a nice picture for Christmas day.

I was a bratty dog and didn't cooperate. It didn't matter.

Mom PHOTOSHOPPED me sitting in front of the tree.

I'm Deuce. You'd think I'd remember Mom can out-think me.

Merry Christmas!

PS. Mom says I only look like I'm wearing a green halo. She says I wasn't an angel when she wanted pictures.

My first Christmas

Mom and Dad talked about this Christmas stuff for a long time. They worried I'd be a one-dog wrecking crew if they put up a tree in the house. Why would they bring a tree inside? I don't really get it, but I did learn Christmas is good for getting high-quality toys.

To go along with my original Kong treat hider, I got a red flying disc I can't chew up or break, a big red bone I can't seem to put fang marks in, a red bouncy thingy Mom calls a hex, and a red ball (which I've let roll under something, don't tell Mom). Red seems to be my color! Mom says Kong brand is best for me because I can't destroy the toys in five minutes. It's not for lack of trying, I swear.

Christmas Eve was really cool. Dad put two really big steaks on the grill and I got bites of steak from both his and Mom's plates. I love steak! We watched the fireplace on the television. How did those puppies get inside the tv?

Then Christmas morning, things went a little sideways. Mom had to rush to the hospital because her step-father had an allergic reaction to Pradaxa. That worried me. If James isn't Mom's dad, then how can Dad be my dad? Mom says it's because I'm adopted and she's not. Didn't I tell you before people are strange?

Mom and Dad had to bring my cousin Paco to my house. This does not please me. I don't like it when Mom pets other dogs. But Mom says it's Christmas and we have to be especially nice at Christmas. We couldn't leave Paco all alone. I know she's right because Mom always is. I just need to work harder not to be jealous.

Mom and I had plans to go for a long walk in the woods on Christmas Day, but we didn't get to go. I was sad Mom wasn't even here. She said next Christmas we might run away from home so we can make sure we spend the day together. She laughed but I'm going to hold her to it.

Being with Mom and Dad is the best Christmas present I could ever have! But do I really have to wait an entire year for more toys?
